Montenegro Statehood Day
13–14 July (annual)Montenegro's national holiday, marking the 1878 Congress of Berlin recognition of the Principality of Montenegro and the 1941 uprising against occupation. Falling in peak season, it brings a festive mood to the coast; government offices and many businesses close over the two-day holiday, though the beaches and tourist areas stay busy.
Sea Dance Festival
Late August (28–31 August 2026)One of the Balkans' biggest music festivals — the coastal sister event to Serbia's EXIT — returning to the Budva Riviera for 2026 with free admission and a beachside main stage a short hop from Bečići. Four nights of world-class electronic and dance acts (the 2026 edition bills Charlotte de Witte, Peggy Gou, Hugel and more). Held 28–31 August 2026; check the official channels for the stage location and set times.
Budva Carnival (Spring Masked Ball)
Late April – early May (annual)The Budva Riviera's big spring party — an international carnival held over several days in late April and early May, when the old town's squares turn into stages and a costumed procession winds through the streets. It builds through the opening 'Abrum' and a children's parade to a grand masked parade of floats, music and dancers drawn from across the region. A rare shoulder-season highlight before the summer crowds arrive, a short hop from Bečići; dates shift year to year, so check before planning.
Grad Teatar (Theatre City)
Late June – AugustBudva's flagship cultural festival, staged since 1987 in the neighbouring old town — theatre premieres, concerts, literature and visual arts on open-air stages in the squares, church courtyards and along the citadel walls. It runs each summer from late June into August (in 2026 its 40th edition ran 30 June–23 August); check the current year's programme.
