Bečići Beach — the long sandy sweep
Bečići Beach is the heart of the resort: at roughly 2 km, it's one of the longest beaches on the Budva Riviera — and the standout stretch of sand, a broad run of fine sand and gravel that's a genuine rarity on a Montenegrin coast mostly of pebble and shingle, which is much of why it built Bečići's reputation and anchors its summer season. Its pedigree is old: back in 1935 the beach won a Grand Prix in Paris as the most beautiful beach in Europe. It carries a Blue Flag for water quality, is well organised with loungers and beach service through the season, and its gentle shore makes it a reliable family choice. Being right in front of town, it is the easiest beach day you'll have here — walk out and you're on it.
Rafailovići — the fishing corner next door
Follow the sand about 1 km north and Bečići runs into Rafailovići, a former fishing settlement that grew into an intimate corner of the Riviera while keeping its harbour and family-run tavernas. The two share effectively one continuous beachfront, so you can stroll from the big resort beach to the quieter, more characterful end and have lunch by the boats.
Kamenovo — the clearest water on the Riviera
A short walk south of Rafailovići — reached through a scenic pedestrian tunnel cut in the headland — is Kamenovo, a 330 m sandy cove in its own small bay famous for the clearest, most vibrant turquoise water on the Budva Riviera: the pale sand on the seabed turns the sea a brilliant blue-green. It's a Blue Flag beach that was officially named Montenegro's best beach in 2019, well organised with sunbeds, cafés and watersports, yet set just far enough from Budva to feel calm. Just beyond it toward Sveti Stefan lies Pržno, a small fishing-village beach with tavernas right at the water's edge.
Sveti Stefan — the iconic island
About 5 km south lies Sveti Stefan, the fortified 15th-century fishing village turned luxury island resort — one of the most photographed sights on the Adriatic. The islet itself is a private resort (the Aman hotel reopened in July 2026 after a five-year closure), but the pink-sand Sveti Stefan Beach on the village side is public — the postcard spot, with the stone village framed across the water — while the Miločer-side Queen's Beach stays reserved for resort guests. Sveti Nikola — the "Hawaii" island
Just off Budva lies Sveti Nikola, the largest island on the Montenegrin coast (about 2 km long) — nicknamed the "Hawaii" of Budva for its clear water and run of three sandy beaches, with smaller coves reachable only by boat and a tiny 16th-century island chapel among the deer and pines. It's uninhabited and undeveloped, so you bring the day with you (a couple of seasonal beach bars aside). Taxi boats shuttle over roughly every 30 minutes in summer from Budva's marina and Slovenska Plaža — a 10-minute crossing, around €5–7 return — making it an easy, offbeat half-day from Bečići.
Budva's shore & beyond
About 3 km north, Budva Old Town has its own beaches right by the medieval walls and marina, plus the Riviera's liveliest bar-and-club scene. Further out, the Bay of Kotor — around 30–40 minutes by road — trades open-sea beaches for calm, fjord-like swimming coves beneath the mountains. Two more Budva-area beaches are worth the short hop west of the old town:
- Jaz Beach — a broad pebble beach about 2.5 km west of Budva, Blue Flag, with a long main strand (~850 m) and a smaller former-naturist end. It's best known for hosting huge open-air concerts: the Rolling Stones in July 2007 — which made Budva the smallest town ever to host the band, drawing some 40,000 people — and Madonna in September 2008, with over 47,000 in the crowd.
- Mogren — two small sandy coves tucked under the cliffs just west of Budva's old town, reached by a short cliff-side walkway past the Mogren fortress. Prettier and more sheltered than the town beach, though it packs out in peak season.
