Bay of Kotor Boat Tour

The fjord-like Bay of Kotor is the headline day trip from Bečići, and the easiest way to take it in is from the water. Boat tours thread past the walled towns of Kotor and Perast and stop at the islet church of Our Lady of the Rocks, with the grey Lovćen and Orjen mountains rising straight out of the sea on every side. Most trips run as full-day excursions from Budva, a short hop up the coast from Bečići.

Budva–Bečići Seaside Promenade Walk

A paved seaside promenade runs the length of the Budva Riviera, and the stretch linking Bečići with Rafailovići and on into Budva is one of the nicest flat walks on the coast. It hugs the shoreline past beach bars, konobas and little marinas, with the Adriatic on one side and the mountains behind — an easy stroll at any time of day, and a favourite at sunset.

Sveti Stefan Viewpoint

Montenegro's most photographed view is only a few kilometres down the coast from Bečići. The fortified islet of Sveti Stefan, joined to the mainland by a slender causeway, is best seen from the roadside viewpoint above it or from the public beaches on either side. It is a quick taxi or bus ride from Bečići and pairs well with a swim at the coves nearby.

Upcoming Festivals & Events

Annual celebrations that bring Bečići to life with music, film, food, and tradition.

Montenegro Statehood Day

13–14 July (annual)

Montenegro's national holiday, marking the 1878 Congress of Berlin recognition of the Principality of Montenegro and the 1941 uprising against occupation. Falling in peak season, it brings a festive mood to the coast; government offices and many businesses close over the two-day holiday, though the beaches and tourist areas stay busy.

Grad Teatar (Theatre City)

Late June – August

Budva's flagship cultural festival, staged since 1987 in the neighbouring old town — theatre premieres, concerts, literature and visual arts on open-air stages in the squares, church courtyards and along the citadel walls. It runs each summer from late June into August (in 2026 its 40th edition ran 30 June–23 August); check the current year's programme.

Things to Do in Bečići — FAQ

What are the best things to do in Bečići?+

Spend time on the long sandy beach, walk the seaside promenade to Budva or the fishing village of Rafailovići for a seafood lunch, take a summer boat trip along the coast to Sveti Stefan, and hire kayaks or paddleboards off the beach. With more time, explore Budva's walled old town and the Bay of Kotor.

What is the best day trip from Bečići?+

The Bay of Kotor — a UNESCO-listed, fjord-like bay with the walled city of Kotor and the baroque town of Perast — is the marquee day out, about 30–40 minutes away. Budva Old Town and Sveti Stefan are on the doorstep, and Lovćen National Park, Skadar Lake and Ostrog Monastery are all within reach.

Should I book tours and day trips in advance?+

For the popular ones, yes. Boat trips and Bay of Kotor excursions fill up fast in July and August, and booking ahead usually comes with free cancellation up to 24 hours before — so there is little downside to reserving your spot early.

What is there to do in Bečići when it rains?+

Head next door to Budva, where the walled old town, its churches and small museums are easy to explore under cover, or make the short trip to Kotor. The beachfront hotels also have spas and indoor pools for a slower day.

How many days do you need in Bečići?+

Two full days cover the beach, the promenade walk to Budva, and a seafood dinner in Rafailovići. Add a third (or more) for a day trip to the Bay of Kotor or Sveti Stefan. Our itinerary maps out the core if you are short on time.
