The Best Time to Visit Bečići, Montenegro: A Seasonal Guide

·3 min read·By Becici.net Editorial

Bečići is a Budva Riviera resort, and its year follows the beach season. The seafront is at full tilt in high summer and much of it winds down in winter — so when you come shapes the whole trip: the temperature, the crowds, and how much is open. One local advantage: Budva next door stays lively year-round, so even off-season you are not stranded. Here is how the year breaks down. For how to reach the town, see our getting-to-Bečići guide.

The short answer

  • Best months: May–June and September–October — warm, comfortable days around 20–28°C, mostly sunny, with fewer crowds. The ideal window for most visitors.
  • Peak season: July–August — hot and lively at 28–32°C, festivals and a buzzing waterfront, but intense midday heat.
  • Off season: November–April — cooler and wetter (5–15°C); much of the resort winds down, though Budva stays open and prices are lowest.

May–June & September–October — the sweet spot

For most travellers, late spring and early autumn are the best time to visit. Days are warm and comfortable (around 20–28°C) and mostly sunny, and there are fewer crowds than midsummer — with pleasant evenings for dining out and strolling the seafront. The Adriatic warms slowly, so the sea is briskest in late spring; it reaches a comfortable 25–26°C by August and holds into September, which means an early-autumn trip gets the warmest water of the year with thinner crowds. Overall the sea stays swimmable roughly June to October. You get the beach and the buzz without the peak-August crush or the fiercest heat.

July & August — peak summer

July and August are hot and lively, with temperatures of 28–32°C, dry and hot, festivals, and a waterfront in full swing. The summer's cultural highlight is Grad Teatar ("Theatre City"), Budva's flagship festival since 1987, which turns the neighbouring old town's squares, church courtyards and citadel walls into open-air stages for theatre, concerts and readings from late June into August (in 2026 its 40th edition ran 30 June–23 August — check the current year's programme). It is the classic Adriatic beach summer — but the midday heat is intense, so plan sightseeing like Sveti Stefan or Budva's old town for the mornings and evenings, and expect the beach and coast road to be busy. UV is strong from June to September: pack high-SPF sunscreen, a hat and water.

November–April — the quiet season

From November to April Bečići is cooler and wetter, around 5–15°C with rainy spells. Much of the resort winds down out of season, though Budva next door stays lively year-round, so there is still somewhere to eat and go out. It is a quiet time for coastal walks and the lowest prices of the year — peaceful, if far from the summer scene.
