A first-timer’s plan

Two Days in Bečići

A long sandy beach, a seaside promenade to Budva’s Old Town, seafood at the water’s edge in Rafailovići, and the whole Budva Riviera on the doorstep. Here’s how to spend two unhurried days on the Adriatic.

Getting around: the beach and promenade are flat and walkable · all sights · getting here & around

Day 1

The beach & the promenade

Sand, sea and the walk into Budva — an easy day entirely on foot.

Morning
Start on Bečići Beach — a long, gently shelving stretch of fine sand and gravel. Swim early before the loungers fill, then take a coffee at one of the beach bars.
Late morning
Follow the seaside promenade south to Rafailovići, the little fishing village at the far end of the bay, and carry on over the headland for a quieter swim at Kamenovo cove.
Lunch
Lunch on grilled fish or buzara at a konoba in Rafailovići, where the tables sit right at the water. Bečići is a seafood town; see what to eat.
Afternoon
Walk the promenade the other way, toward Budva, and into its walled Old Town — marble lanes, small churches and a citadel above the sea, about 3 km along the coast.
Sunset
Back on the Bečići side, take the sunset from the promenade or a hotel terrace over the Adriatic.
Evening
Dinner along the beachfront, then easy drinks at a beach bar — or a short hop into Budva if you want a livelier night.
Day 2

Sveti Stefan & the coast

A day trip along the Riviera — Montenegro’s most famous view, and beyond.

Morning
Head south to Sveti Stefan, the fortified islet linked to shore by a causeway — Montenegro’s most photographed sight, best seen from the coast road or the beaches below.
Midday
Carry on toward the Bay of Kotor if you have a car or a tour: the UNESCO-listed bay, the walled city of Kotor, and the baroque town of Perast with its two islands.
Afternoon
Prefer to stay near the water? Spend the afternoon back on Bečići Beach, or take a boat trip along the Riviera coves.
Evening
A final seafood dinner and a quiet drink on the promenade — see where to eat and after dark.
Base

Where to stay

For two days on foot, base yourself on the beachfront strip or the quieter Rafailovići end — the beach and promenade are then a flat walk away. Compare the areas in our where-to-stay guide, then pick a room from the hotels guide.

+ Day 3

With more time

A third day is best spent on a day trip: the walls of Kotor and the Bay of Kotor, Lovćen National Park and the Njegoš Mausoleum, Skadar Lake, or the cliffside Ostrog Monastery.

Good to know

Is two days enough for Bečići?

Two days covers the essentials — the beach, the promenade walk to Budva Old Town, and a seafood dinner in Rafailovići. A third day lets you slow down or take a day trip to Sveti Stefan, the Bay of Kotor, or Skadar Lake.

Do you need a car?

Not for Bečići itself — the beach, promenade and Rafailovići are all walkable, and local buses, taxis and summer boats link Bečići with Budva. A car (or a booked tour) helps most for day trips to Kotor, Lovćen or Skadar Lake.

When is the best time to do this itinerary?

June to September for warm sea and full beach-bar season, with July and August the busiest. May and October are quieter, with mild weather and fewer crowds.
